Greg Garner established Garner’s Landscaping and Plant Stand in 2000, transforming his high school part-time job into a thriving full-service landscape company. With over 36 years of experience, Greg provides top-notch commercial and residential landscape design, installation, and maintenance services. In 2003, Greg and his wife Jacki expanded their venture by starting a small greenhouse operation, which has now grown to over 12 greenhouses and a retail nursery location. The Plant Stand proudly grows about 90% of its plants in Newport, NC, offering a diverse range of locally-grown shrubs, flowers, vegetables, and landscaping supplies to the community.​ Garner's takes pride in being one of the few suppliers of native marsh grass, Spartina Alterniflora and Spartina Patens, providing our unique coastal area with a vital resource to renourish our delicate coastlines.

Greg, along with his long-time friend Clayton Garner of Garner's Farms, launched Garner's Fall Festival in 2014.  Garner’s Fall Festival is a six-week Fall Festival of Fun that features a 5-acre corn maze, 10+ acres of U-Pick Pumpkin Patches, Hay Rides, kid and family-friendly activities, farm animals, and more.
